MCCS MWTC Child Development Center (CDC) is conveniently located at Lincoln Military Housing in Coleville. It has earned accreditation through the Council on Accreditation (COA). Our Program Assistants and Program Leaders utilize positive guidance and the Early Learning Matters (ELM) curriculum to support children’s behavioral, cognitive, and developmental growth. Our staff is certified in: Infant/Child/Adult First Aid, Infant/Child/Adult CPR/AED, health and sanitation, food handling, bloodborne pathogens, foodborne diseases, nutrition, medical dispensation, diapering and toileting, stages of child development, and more.

The CDC provides full-time, part-time, and hourly care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.

The part day program operates as a preschool and younger program, focusing on the development of each individual child. The preschool program has a developed curriculum and assessments to assist the children in their kindergarten readiness.

We also provide before and after school care for children 5 to 9 years of age. During school vacations (excluding federal holidays), we offer full day care at an additional cost to school aged children.

Hourly or Drop-in Care is available provided the CDC has the coverage to accommodate the needs of the family. A minimum of 48 hours notice must be given and a current packet must be on file in order to be eligible for care.
** Hourly care, Drop-in care and Part-Day preschool are currently not available.

The Family Advocacy and Counseling Services Program is located in the Family Services Center located in Lincoln Military Housing.  The program is staffed by qualified, licensed clinical staff, trained in family violence and able to provide counseling services upon request.

Education and Support services include skill building classes in Parenting School Age Children, Suicide Prevention, Anger and Stress Management, Couples/ Marriage Relationship.

Counseling services for Individuals, Couples and Families are provided as well as information and referrals to other resources in the area.

EFMP assists Marine families in managing the dual demands of a Marine Corps career and the special needs of a family member. An EFM is a family member, enrolled in DEERS and residing with their sponsor who may require special medical or educational services based upon a diagnosed physical, intellectual or emotional need.

Services offered in Bridgeport are Information, referral, education and assistance with completing the necessary paperwork to enroll in the program.

Marine Corps Exchange

MCCS operates a retail store aboard the Mountain Warfare Training Center [MWTC]. The Marine Corps Exchange at the MWTC is the hub of consumable supplies needed for training and everyday life aboard the base. We try to accommodate all different aspects of the mountain environment.

We carry grocery items, snacks and drinks as well as camping supplies, batteries, and tactical gear. We also carry utility uniforms, medals, ribbons and accessories and can special order just about any item we don't currently have in stock.

As the situation dictates, we are also available for field exchange operations, and will extend hours for training units [with 48 hours advance notice]. No matter what the season, the Marine Corps Exchange is here to serve you.

NEW PARENT SUPPORT PROGRAM
The New Parent Support Program (NPSP) is a professional team of registered nurses and licensed clinicians who provide supportive and caring services to military families who are expecting and/or with children from birth to five years of age. Through a variety of voluntary programs, including home visits and classes, the NPSP helps families learn to cope with stress, isolation, post deployment reunions, and the everyday demands of parenthood.

HOME VISITATION
Home visitation is a chance to form a warm, caring bond with a professional who can help with your concerns as a parent or parent-to-be in the privacy of your home. Our trained home visitors have extensive knowledge of the issues encountered by today’s parents and are sensitive to the unique challenges facing military families.

WHAT IF WE’RE NOT NEW PARENTS?
The NPSP is not just for new parents. Even if you’ve been raising your family for a few years, new ages and stages bring different challenges. We offer families the opportunity to express their concerns and ask questions about babies, young children and family relationships.

WHAT IF THIS ISN’T OUR FIRST BABY?
Often adding a brother or sister to the family presents a real change in the family. Demands on your time are different with more than one child in your house. This program helps develop support networks and answers questions while your family experiences these changes.

BABY BOOT CAMP
Baby Boot Camp is a class that provides information on labor & delivery, postpartum, breast-feeding, bottle feeding, and safety. The class emphasizes the father’s involvement and includes interactive demonstrations of basic infant care, such as bathing, diapering, and soothing a crying baby. This class is provided to expectant parents (both couples & singles). Participants must register prior to attending the class by calling the NPSP Office.

INFANT MASSAGE CLASSES
Infant Massage is an opportunity for parents to bond and communicate with their infants through touch. It can help to aid in infants' digestion and promote sleep. This class will give you an opportunity to gain a better understanding of your infant's cues and contribute to their growth and development.

MOMS AND MUNCHKINS PLAY GROUP
Bi-monthly play group is offered for moms to interact with one-another.  Group is informal and designed to foster friendship.  The group also assists with socialization for children.  Moms and Munchkins offers support and guidance as moms navigate challenges of parenting at MWTC where remote living conditions present unique challenges.  The group is always positive and assists with finding solutions.

Semper Fit’s Outdoor Recreational Service is conveniently located in the Fitness Center aboard MCMWTC in beautiful Bridgeport, California. We offer an array of rental items for you to use during your time aboard the installation. Check out some of the great deals we have and make your next event memorable!

If you're planning to hit one of the many hiking trails in the area or camp at one of the local campsites, we have camping packages that include 2-person tents. We have also added camping trailers to our lineup.

If fishing is your passion, we have everything you need. There's no shortage of lakes or rives in the area and Outdoor Rec offers tools for fly-fishing and dropping a line. 

If watercrafts are more your speed, stop in to see our kayaks and boats!

Ski season is a bit hit around here with all the snow we get, and while the surrounding area provides plenty of the white stuff, Outdoor Rec has just the gear to make the most of your skiing/snowboarding experience.

RENTAL POLICIES

1. Equipment checkouts will be completed during normal posted business hours only. Please allow at least 30 minutes for general equipment checkouts and one (1) hour for all camper, trailer and ski/snowboard rentals. Please note: campers must begin their check out a minimum of 1 hour before closing.
2. Patrons will need to provide their driver’s license and proof on insurance when renting any towable equipment.
3. Thoroughly inspect each item before leaving. If the condition of the equipment does not meet your satisfaction, simply ask a member of our staff to replace it with a like item or have the checklist indicate any damages to equipment. It will be assumed that all items rented are undamaged and in serviceable condition unless indicated on the checklist. Damage or loss of any item will be charged against the user for the cost to repair or replace the item.
4. Items must be returned on the return day indicated on the Checkout Form, by 1300. Failure to return items on time will result in an additional daily rate charges and if applicable, fees for any lost revenue will be applied to the late charges.
5.  Reservations must be by authorized users, age 18 and older.
6. All campers will be sent out with the holding tanks empty; the same is expected upon their return to avoid a service fee. Customers should be sure to note any/all damages to campers at time of checkout to avoid fees upon return.
7. Rentals can only be brought back during business hours. If a rental is brought back during the weekend, customer will still be charged for the full rental.
8. Outdoor Rec. does a rental survey. If the patron would like to fill one out they will be but into a monthly drawing to win $20 off of their next rental. Ask your Outdoor Rec Attendant!

SCHOOL LIAISON PROGRAM

During your assignment at Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Command, the School Liaison Program is here to facilitate a smooth transition for your school-aged children. Eastern Sierra Unified and Douglas County School Districts have an Open Enrollment educational system. The School Liaison can help you navigate the educational system in order to make the best school choices for your children.

MISSION STATEMENT:

The mission of the USMC School Liaison Program is to promote awareness of the unique educational needs of military-connected children.

• Develop, coordinate, and engage in school and community partnership initiatives that foster academic success. 

• Increase educator and community awareness of the Marine Corps mission.

• Serve as the commander’s subject matter expert and point of contact for pre K-12 education related matters.

• Provide military families and students with school transitions and academic support information and resources.

After conducting a Quality of Life study in 1993, showing that 43% of young, single Marines were dissatisfied with their overall quality of life, and leisure activities available to them the Marine Corps established the Single Marine Program in 1995.

Today, the SMP is still helping to improve the lives of Single Marines and Sailors at MWTC and across the Marine Corps.  The SMP positively affects areas of life including, retention in the USMC, job performance and personal readiness. 

The SMP serves all single Marines and Sailors aboard MWTC.  We focus on young, single, enlisted Marines and Sailors, but we welcome geographical bachelors too.   

MWTC has a highly-energized Single Marine Program designed to help enhance your quality of life.  Your SMP Rec Center is located inside the barracks on the first floor across from the duty hut.

The Pickel Chalet is an all ranks club for permanent personnel that is also open to retirees, DOD Employees, contractors who work on the base. This dining facility has a beautiful view of the Eastern Sierra and the back side of Yosemite. Menu items include: pizza, salads, sandwiches, appetizers and hamburgers.

The Pickel Chalet is also available for special events including but not limited to wedding receptions, wet downs, graduations, family reunions, changes of command and group parties!

The MWTC MCCS Youth Sports program provides a positive and fun experience for youth within the MWTC community. We are an organized sports program for boys and girls (ages 5-18?) that focuses on safety, fun and development.

Registration Information

Registration is handled through email and over the phone during registration periods. Youth sports has limited spots available, so all registrations will be taken on a first-come first-served basis.

Eligibility

Must be legal family members of Active Duty, Retirees, MWTC MCCS (NAF) employees or discharged veterans with 100% service connected disability are authorized patrons.
